Every Check Passed on Posts Almost Nobody Could See

Every post my system publishes has to match, character for character, the copy I approved. After each one goes out, it reads the post back and checks. This week we learned those checks had been passing on posts almost nobody could see.

For about two weeks, the posts going out on my team's Facebook page through our publishing app were visible only to the few of us with a role on that app. Visitors saw nothing newer than August 15.

The app was still marked as in development. Anything a development app publishes can only be seen by the people who work on it. Our read-backs ran from the inside, so they saw every post, exact words and all.

On Friday, I made two calls. Take the app out of development, which we did that afternoon. And from now on, the team page posts natively, inside the platform's own tools, even with the app fixed.

The six hidden posts now show as shared with the public. One check is still on the list, fittingly: looking at them from an account that isn't ours.
