I Asked Red to Stop Updating the Spreadsheet

By Khai Tran · · 2 min read

I asked Red to put my Journal plan in the dashboard. Tuesday’s posts gave us a way to try the new handoff.

Week ending November 6.

I asked Red to show me what was going out for my AI Build Journal that week. Then I asked it to put the plan in the dashboard. I wanted a place I could go back to when I needed it.

Until then, part of finishing a post was updating the social spreadsheet and delivering a fresh copy. When I asked Red to verify the next posts, I caught myself giving that instruction again. Then I asked if we could stop updating the spreadsheet and just use the dashboard.

We tried it with Tuesday’s Journal posts. Red opened the Facebook and LinkedIn posts, checked the copy and first comments, and saved the links. The dashboard update went through after those checks. The plan and the links to the live posts had a place to go, and there was no fresh spreadsheet for me to keep track of.

That was the part I wanted. The next time I need to know what’s coming or whether something went out, I have somewhere to look. And when a post is still waiting on a check, I want to see that too. That’s what makes it worth opening the dashboard in the first place.

I’m going to see how this feels over the next few weeks. The test is whether I can answer those questions without asking Red to put another report together.
